Our Principal Attorney, Louis R. Burko, was born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island, where he currently resides. He is the second generation of the Burko family of lawyers to work at the firm. Mr. Burko began his legal career as a law clerk at Severance, Burko, Spalter, Masone & Laurette PC in 1992 before spending time working as a Licensed Workers’ Compensation Representative. After receiving his Juris Doctorate degree from the Brooklyn School of Law in 1999, Louis began practicing law. He became the firms principal in 2005 and currently is head of our Social Security Disability practice. Mr. Burko has years of experience handling claims with the Social Security Administration and can help you with your initial application and appeals, if necessary.
